Andy Kessler was more than one of the original NYC skate pioneers -- he was a tireless advocate for skateboarding across the five boroughs. If you've ever skated in New York City, you owe him thanks. When he passed away unexpectedly in the summer of 2009, even those who had never met him were shaken. Kessler had collaborated with Vans on a two-shoe Syndicate pack which is finally releasing now. Simply made up in black leather with white stripes and blue laces, the pack features simple "AK" graphics on the insoles and subway-token inspired "NYC" tabs on the heels. The lining is a tech fabric from Outlast for performance, because more than anything, Andy wanted people to skate. Detail shots follow.
