For Nike's ninth annual Chinese "Year of the..." shoe, they decided to take a different approach. They utilized the Cortez silhouette for the first time, and rather than going with the traditional yellow and black tiger stripes, went with the colors of the far rarer white Bengal tiger. The tiger stripes are set off by horsehair trim. Set for an Asia-only (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) release, the Year of the Tiger Cortez will be available in both a 200-pair limited release in a special box (February 10) or a traditional Nike shoebox (February 13). Both release will come with two sets of laces, black and a pair of Starks tiger-stripe ones that match the shoe's upper. Detail shots follow.
