There have been checkered Vans almost as long as there have been Vans, so in that sense, these are nothing new. But a lot has happened since the days of Ridgemont High's Class of '82. The shift to a tonal checkered print, especially in shades of brown, is more Louis Vuitton than Jeff Spicoli. And the golden nameplates do nothing to dissuade from that luxury feel. Nor does the liberal application of patent leather. The style is applied to the venerable Sk8-Hi, as well as the Court Force-like V2041. Due for Holiday 2009. Individual images follow.
