When it comes time to do a little holiday shopping this season, you've got some options. You can hop in the truck, head over to the good old BJ's Wal-Marget Super Center and pick up the usual Wii-and-iPod category goods for your friends and fam. Or you can stay inside, bang some tunes of your own choice (unless you really want to hear Taylor Swift and Blue Light Special announcements) and surf the internet, brah! In that spirit here's five radical - and might we add independent (no multi-billionaire CEOs here folk) - retailers stocking some of the most sought after, stylish and way-cool gear that will keep you and your friends "so pitted" all holiday season long.
Turntable Lab
What they have: What started as an online boutique for DJ equipment and vinyl, Turntable Lab has expanded into all facets of cool guy lifestyle.
Why they're on the list: They're the only place to find a lot of their underground music stock and their clothing section is cool without being overbearing. And if you don't find anything you want to cop, you can still listen to samples of brand new tunes.
Must cop item: Flud Boombox Watch, $89

Flight Club
What they have: Sneakers. Sneakers. Sneakers. Any size shape color, make model, this is where you want to go.
Why they're on the list: The originator of the sneaker consignment game here in the states. While they still have plenty of rare gems, you can also score some good deals on kicks that aren't in stores anymore. And if you're looking for a size 13+, this may be your best bet on many models.
Must cop item: Nike Air Stab "Foot Patrol", $225

Need Supply Co.
What they have: Contemporary men's brands at a competitive price point. That is to say, not douchey.
Why they're on the list: You'll find plenty of stuff for yourself or as a gift. They have classic brands like Red Wing and Penfield to imports at a decent price, like A.P.C. Jeans.
Must cop item: Warriors of Radness Striped Pullover, $98

80's Purple
What they have: Sensibly priced apparel and accessories that don't suck, at all. Also, they've got gear for women, so you can shop for your girl or girls (nice bro!).
Why they're on the list: Style points. While they carry many street brands, they give you some style ideas so you don't look like your little brother. Also, they run the gamut of affordable to more pricey options, if you're really looking to splash some coin.
Must cop item: Analog Men's Socket Shirt, $55

Commonwealth
What they have: All the best in streetwear - Original Fake, Acapulco Gold and artist exclusive collaborations from Wale and The Clipse.
Why they're on the list: They're one of the earliest and best streetwear shops in the country. Plus, the product is dope.
Must cop item: Garbstore Providence Parka, $340.00
