Lance Armstrong and Nike bring STAGES, their global art exhibition, to New York City's Deitch Projects gallery next week. Inspired by Armstrong and his fight against cancer, over twenty renowned artists including Ed Ruscha, KAWS and Cai-Guo Qiang (who's "Tree With Yellow Blossoms" is seen above) have donated their time and creativity to express the LIVESTRONG message and raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Each artist's work is available for purchase with proceeds directly benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation. After its debut in Paris at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in July during the Tour de France, STAGES will have its official New York opening hosted by Deitch Projects on October 30, 2009. In New York, Futura, Brazilian artists Os Gemeos (a.k.a. "The Twins") and 3-D painter Dustin Yellin have all created unique works that join the exhibition.
STAGES will be open to the public in New York on October 31 and run through November 21, 2009. The show will then move to Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach in early December.
