If the original Rubik's Cube of the '70s and the Simon game had a love child, it would be the Rubik's Touch Cube. The once impossible puzzle comprised of colorful algorithms is now a glowing square of fun. Instead of moving the sides around to line up like colors, an iPhone style swipe is all you need to make a switcheroo. And hey, if you can't figure the puzzle out (which you probably can't or else you'd stick with the old school one), then you can just reset the colors and fake a win. They say cheaters never prosper, but Rubik's will...the Rubik's Touch Cube goes for $150 a pop. [Via NYT]

I purchased one of these, and I'm warning everyone now, I was NOT satisfied. To say it's like an iPhone touch style would be an outrageous overstatement. Rather than the smooth glassy feel of an iPhone screen, your finger is greeted by a thin plastic film. I promptly returned mine, as it was so poorly produced that my charger didn't even work. The touch sensitivity is terrible. It barely picks up, and often goes in the wrong direction. Speedsolving is NOT an option. The option that teaches you how to solve it is pretty useless, because anyone willing to pay $150 for this piece of crap already knows how to solve it, or they're a rich idiot that spends because they can and won't take the time to learn. Biggest waste of money ever. If you really want one of these, wait till the price drops. And trust me, it will. Quick.
