To be honest, this is the kind of thing we've been waiting for ever since Nike bought Converse back in 2003. A meeting of the minds, a blending of the brands. Nothing ridiculous like a Jack Purcell with an Air Max 360 sole or something like that, just some subtle mixing of marques. And what better shoes to combine than the venerable Blazer and the legendary Chuck Taylor All-Star -- each company's first Vulcanized venture into basketball shoes (the Blazer from 1972, the All-Star from 1917). It's hard to tell what's more impressive -- the fact that they tried this hybrid at all, or the fact that they pulled it off so successfully. The Blazer kept its integrity, with stitched outline Swoosh and no rubber toecap, and the All-Star influence was kept subtle, from the black canvas upper with unbleached sockliner to the midsole stripe, metal eyelets, thin tongue and heel tag. Of course, as of right now, there are no plans to release it. Can't imagine why, as there shouldn't be any issue with patents or copyrights. Here's hoping they work things out. Many more shots after the jump. [Via The Shoe Game]
